Project ManagerThis role is responsible for overseeing projects from inception to successful completion, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals. It involves understanding objectives, defining requirements, creating actionable plans, coordinating with diverse teams, and driving progress. The role requires strong leadership, excellent business acumen, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams, including IT, software development, vendors, finance, legal, compliance, and product specialists.
Additionally, this position will mentor and coach other project leaders within the organization, setting a standard of excellence in project management practices. This role reports to the Director of PMO and requires onsite work three days a week in Durham, NC.
Responsibilities:- Coordinate project activities to achieve successful business outcomes.
- Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle: planning, definition, design, execution, and delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define objectives, scope, budgets, and key deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, providing guidance and support.
- Monitor budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and value delivery.
- Proactively address resource constraints and risks.
- Facilitate regular project status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders.
- Serve as the communication hub for project expectations, progress, and issues.
- Present project status updates in executive meetings.
- Oversee the selection and management of external consultants or vendors.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure project deliverables meet standards.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including action items and key artifacts.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedules, and costs, communicating impacts effectively.
Requirements:- 2+ years of project management experience.
- Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage diverse, cross-functional projects.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Project management certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent) or relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to quickly adapt to project management tools and SaaS platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile practices and the software development lifecycle.
